Description: XHTML is the open standard designed to replace HTML. This hands-on XHTML Web Design course provides the student with the information and lab experience necessary to create a commercial quality web site using the latest XHTML technologies. Upon completion students will be able to plan and develop commercial quality web sites that use the next generation of HTML, the XHTML technologies. The course presents the concepts necessary to build XHTML web sites that allow users to access information through different browser technologies such as computers, mobile phones, hand helds, web TV, and other browser enabled XHTML compliant devices. Students learn how to develop commercial web sites that work on current and future XHML supported browsers as well as all browsers which are backward compatible. The important media types of XHTML such as aural, braille, embossed, handheld, print, projection, screen, tty, and tv are also covered.

Prerequisites: This course is intended for individuals who need to know XHTML well and are tasked with designing and producing usable commercial web sites that will work on a maximum number of browsers and internet appliances. General computer literacy is required and a knowledge of HTML is helpful, but not required.
