This site is constructed to meet the following requirements:

1. Fast Download

The most important requirement for any Ecommerce site is a fast download time. According to most all internet resources, one of the major reasons for visitors leaving a site is too long a download time.

2. Ease of Navigation

The second most important requirement for any Ecommerce site is ease of navigation. This means that information on the site is easy to access.

3. Ease of Site Construction

This site does not use any HTML editors. By not using any editors, we are able to separate content, style, and structure. All information on this site contains the same structure and style, only the content is different. You are always viewing the same page, the only thing that is changing is the content. For us to add new pages, we only need to add new content, nothing else. Adding new content may be done using non-technical staff with any text processor.

4. Ease of Site Maintenance

Because this site has content separated from the style and structure, this site may be remotely maintained. What this means is that any authorized person my change any of the content of this site through a web browser. What this means is that site content may be changed by non-technical staff at any location. The only requirement is access to a web browser with an internet connect and appropriate passwords.

5. Availability on other Internet Appliances

This site uses the latest W3C XHTML standards. What this means is that the content of this site may be viewed by the maximum number of internet appliances and browsers.

6. Availability in Other Media

The content of this site are stored in XML. What this means is that the content of this site is available for a variety of other data formats such as voice, WebTV, book print, or other standard formats.

This developer designs and implements applications that make use of XML and related technologies such as XML Schema, XSLT and XPath. This developer has a strong understanding of XML fundamentals; knowledge of XML concepts and related technologies; understands how data relates to XML, in particular with issues associated to information modeling, XML processing, XML rendering and Web Services; has a thorough knowledge of core XML related W3C recommendations; and is familiar with well-known, best practices.
